EPDM roof repairs

EPDM roof.jpg

EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) roofing is a popular and durable roofing option for both residential and commercial properties. It is a type of flat roofing system that is made from a synthetic rubber material that is known for its durability, flexibility, and resistance to extreme weather conditions.

EPDM roofs are usually on commercial flat roof's. They are usually a ballasted roof. A ballasted roof means that the roof membrane is not anchored or adhered in any way to the decking material. It is, however, ballasted, generally with gravel. The weight of the gravel is what keeps the roof on without being anchored during high winds or storms. This is a very cost effective roof. The downfall of the EPDM roof is that this membrane is fairly thin and if the membrane gets punctured, the leak can be very difficult to find because of the gravel. Our team of roofers are experts at finding and patching EPDM roof leaks.

One of the main benefits of EPDM roofing is its durability. The material is resistant to UV rays, extreme temperatures, and other weather conditions. This means that it can withstand harsh weather conditions and last for many years without needing repairs or replacement. EPDM roofs are known to last between 20 and 30 years on average.
